Stay on Track with Your Health and Wellness Resolutions in 2019

According to the U.S. News & World Report, 80 percent of New Year’s resolutions fail by February. Why is that the case, you may wonder? Well, for starters, change can certainly be daunting – especially when it comes to your health.

Whether you’ve planned to explore a new fitness program in 2019, finally sign up for that race or take better care of your body, our team at Structural Elements® has one piece of advice: trust the process.

It takes time and effort to better your health and wellness, and many people can become overwhelmed and discouraged when they’re not seeing the results they desire (and as quickly as they want to). Plus, rushing into your goals, especially ones that involve a new workout program, are likely to result in injury and hold you back even longer.

It’s important to remember that even the smallest changes can keep you on the path to accomplishing your goals. Adding an apple to your lunch, foam rolling after your workout, etc. – these small successes are the ones that really add up over time. If you haven’t gotten off to the start you wanted to in January, it doesn’t mean you have to wait again until next year for another chance. Make those small changes to get yourself back on track and remind yourself why you started.
