David D Dannels, DC
Dr. David Dannels is thrilled to begin the next phase of his career with the wonderful group of professionals at Structural Elements®.
He graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, TX in 2001. He started his career by working in a variety of settings with many different types of professionals. His main focus was working with endurance athletes. He cared for and trained with marathoners, ultramarathoners, triathletes, ironman competitors and cyclists of all abilities. He also volunteered a lot at local races to support the community and to help the competitors increase their level of performance and recovery.
David had an opportunity to "run away with the circus," and he did! He spent the next six years traveling the world with a multi-million-dollar production called Cavalia. He was responsible for creating the health and wellness department and for taking care of the entire company. He worked with people from all walks of life and from numerous cultures and backgrounds. He took care of the performers, musicians, technicians, office staff and pretty much the whole crew including the horses.
While most people do not put their bodies through the extremes that endurance athletes and circus performers do, working with these individuals taught him a tremendous amount about how the human body functions under many different types of stress and tension. David has a wide variety of different kinds of injuries and chronic stress conditions, but in working with people who relied on their bodies every day, the most important thing he learned was how to teach people to listen to their own bodies. He loves to educate people on the habits of movement, posture, sleep, diet and breath. This helps them derive the most pleasure and performance out of their bodies, enhance their innate talents and reduce the risk of injuries.
David and his family have recently relocated to Leesburg, VA from Washington state. In February of 2017 they welcomed their first child into the world, a little boy named Zayden. David’s sister and mom live in Leesburg and Christine’s family lives in Quebec, Canada. It’s a priority for them to be closer to family as they raise their precious little one. David is ready to start serving and helping his community reach new levels of health and wellness. Whether you have a desk job or ride elephants for a living, David is excited to help you on your way. He thanks you in advance for giving him the opportunity to serve.
Erin Mozingo, LMT
Erin is passionate about integrating her knowledge of the human body with her ability to help others create and sustain a healthy lifestyle. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from James Madison University and her Massage Certification from the Central Maryland School of Massage in Frederick, MD.
After suffering several sports injuries, Erin was introduced to physical therapy as a patient. She decided she wanted to pursue a career in a similar field to help individuals work through similar sports-related injuries. She worked alongside the Strength & Conditioning coach, Greg Werner, at James Madison and experienced the rigor of training college athletes. Erin also completed a 500 hours internship in a physical therapy clinic. She later worked as a fitness trainer at Planet Fitness.
Erin’s personal knowledge of athletics, combined with her training in Structural Elements®, allow her to successfully improve performance and sports-related injury. When away from the clinic, Erin enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and staying fit.
I’ve been seeing Erin for over a year for muscle spasms in my back related to an injury that caused an abnormal gait. I was pain free after my first visit. I saw her every month to six weeks after that and she was able to maintain the adjustments that had been made. I have been pain free for one and a half years. I would recommend her without reservation. Even if you’re not having an acute pain issue it’s great for maintenance for those physically active. I was thrilled to be able to manage my pain with massage and adjustments as opposed to pharmaceutical intervention. You will not regret trying Structural Elements!!
I had the good fortune of working with Structural Elements following an injury to my shoulder. I had experienced limited mobility of my shoulder for a period exceeding two months. Specifically, I was unable to perform presses or flies, as well as go through more functional movements, such as swinging a golf club or tennis racket.
They emphasized alignment, performed dry needling to address muscular imbalances, and applied the appropriate level of pressure to my shoulder to improve mobility. I regained full use of my arm approximately 48 hours following my appointment.
I found the staff at Structural Elements to be exceedingly approachable and professional; they were invested in my injury and committed to working with me on a solution. I was impressed with both the cleanliness and functionality of the facility. The on-site fitness room allowed for them to show me the appropriate preventative exercises to avoid future injuries of a similar nature. This was an unanticipated service that differentiates Structural Elements from other physical therapy outfits.
I remain grateful for the service I received and will continue to visit Structural Elements as future injuries occur. I am comfortable endorsing their business to all in need of orthopedic wellness and injury prevention services.
I came to Structural Elements after a friend referred me. I hesitated because I live in Springfield, and the drive to Leesburg is one hour on a good day. After several sessions, however, I can say that it's well worth the trip.
I first came in with nerve pain in my lower back/glutes and uneven hips. They take the time to see where your problem areas are and perform adjustments (sort of like a chiropractor, but more thorough). I was given exercises to stabilize and strengthen in order to prevent my hips from becoming uneven. Each time I visit, we progress to a little more advanced exercises and I'm thrilled that the last time I visited the office, my hips were aligned.
I'm extremely satisfied with the service I've received at Structural Elements and am excited to have gained knowledge and tools on how to keep my body healthy and aligned.
Structural Elements works with local businesses, schools and teams to develop meaningful relationships. We love to create educational opportunities, incentives and mutually beneficial programs that will keep our Community Partners healthy and performing at the top of their game. If you are a business owner or director of an athletic program, we would love to discuss how we could work together. For more information, contact us.
