Clinical Skills Course

The Clinical Skills Course is designed to give students a clear, effective and efficient set of manual therapy techniques.  These techniques will build on the fundamentals learned in the Therapeutic Assessment Course.  The manual skills in this course are aimed at releasing and organizing restricted tissue.  This course will provide therapists with specific release techniques targeting areas of adhesive collagen that form along membranes of loose connective tissue; traditionally referred to as Meridians.  Areas of the body where numerous muscular layers intersect are prime for the development of focal adhesions.  This course provides techniques for restoring proper muscular glide to these ares and on “release concepts” that can be applied anywhere.  The Clinical Skills Course is part two of the 4-part series required for certification as an (se) practitioner but can be taken along with part one, Therapeutic Assessment as a stand alone supplement for Manual Therapists.

Techniques taught in this course will include, but are not limited to addressing the following areas:

  • Piriformis
  • Gluteus Medius
  • Sacrotuberous Ligament
  • Psoas Major
  • TFL
  • Iliotibial Band
  • Pectoralis Minor
  • Subscapularis
  • Pelvic Alignment
  • Cervical Alignment
